Monitor and fault indicator in distribution network - has parallel optical fibres for signal transmission both ways

The monitoring and fault indicating system is for a distributor network with optical fibres. Along at least one transmission optical fibre at least one extra optical fibre (ZL1) is fitted which transmits to the central station (5) a signal appearing at least at one end point of the distributor network. Pref., the optical fibre (5) for the reverse transmission by-passes the branch points (V1, 2) of the tree network. A device can disconnect the central station transmitter on non-appearance of the reverse transmission signal. USE/ADVANTAGE - For laser utilising, multi-level transmission networks, with simple function monitoring, and transmit laser switch-off upon interruption.
