PURPOSE: To compose a coupling device for a gearshift rod in an automobile to be simple, easily manufacture it, let it require only a very small space, provide favorable damping characteristics to prevent transmission device peak force which is troublesome in a shifting process, and eliminate play in a shift lever selecting direction. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate element 26 used for damping vibration is provided between mutually fitted rod ends 16, 18 of both gearshift rods 12, 14, a holder 40 is provided on one gearshift rod 14, a center body 32 surrounded by the holder 40 is installed on the other gearshift rod 12, and spring elements 36 to damp transmission device peak force is provided on both end surfaces 34 of the center body 32 or on both inner side surfaces 46, 48 of the holder 40. |
