PURPOSE:To certainly perform ink end detecting operation and recording operation by performing ink end detecting operation corresponding to the state of an ink jet recording apparatus. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording apparatus wherein ink end detection terminals S1, S2 are provided on a carriage 2 and a signal is transmitted through an FPC, the proper cycles of ink end detecting operation are set corresponding to the respective states of a recording apparatus at the times of recording operation, recovery operation and waiting. |
