FIXED PLATE CASTING SYSTEM

摘要

Semi-permeable membranes are made by casting a solution of polymer onto a moving, porous substrate [10] while the substrate is moving over a rigid support [30]. The cast polymer layer [45] then is quenched by exposure to a gaseous atmosphere, and a liquid [80]. The resultant membranes have improved permeation properties and are especially suited for liquid separations by reverse osmosis.
