PURPOSE:To reduce the tension acting on a thin part when a horn is pressed by a driver. CONSTITUTION:An air bag cover 26 has a box shape, and consists of a top wall part 26A and a side wall part 26B. On the top wall part 26A, a thin part 40 which consists of a longitudinal groove 40A and a lateral groove 40B and has an H-shape viwed from driver's side is formed. Further, the reinforced part 28A of an insert plate 28 is embedded in the side wall part 26B. In the reinforced part 28A, a part projects to a driver side and is formed to a projection part 28C. The projection part 28C is arranged in the vicinity of the directly under part of the longitudinal groove 40A of the thin part 40. Further, in the reinforced part 28A, a supporting part 28D which is bent in the axis line direction of an inflator 22 is formed integrally from the vicinity of the projection part 28C, and the length is set to L. The side surface of the projection part 28C and the driver's side edge surface of the supporting part 28D are formed to smooth surfaces. Accordingly, when a horn is pressed by a driver, the pressing force is supported and absorbed by the supporting part 28D, and a tension is hardly acts to the longitudinal groove 40A. Further, in the sharp deceleration of the vehicle, the top wall part 26A is easily exfoliated, and the longitudinal groove 40A is speedily broken. |
