<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal head heating element drive method in which the reproducibility and sharpness of a printing dot are improved and a change in heating size to an applied energy can be reduced. CONSTITUTION:A sub-scanning-direction width (a) of a heating element 5 is determined to be smaller than a sub-scanning-direction width (b) of a required printing dot. An energy to be applied to the heating element is so supplied that the printing dot width (b) can meet (a)<=(b).</p> |
