Bearing arrangement for steel finishing plant - gives better finish avoiding lateral flaws by introducing plastic rings between bearing outer ring and housing

A bearing arrangement for the working roller (1) of a metal strip finishing plant prevents the occurrence of a lateral strip like flaw, esp. during rolling of thin plate or sheet. One or more elastomeric plastic rings (9) are located between the housing (8) and the outer rings (7) of the roller bearings (4). The plastic rings (9) are contained in an enclosed space by end rings (10) to ensure no free play. USE/ADVANTAGE - The plastic ring is used on metal finishing plants to give better finishes by eliminating lateral strip-like flaws.
