Full screen scrolling is provided in a display subsystem, particularly VGA subsystems. The scrolling method and apparatus employs the VGA screen start register and split screen operation to achieve scrolling without physically moving data. The full screen scrolling provides high performance in high resolution graphics modes. Video memory address indications from the screen start register and split screen register effect scrolling and video memory wraparound. The split screen register supports display of a full, unitary screen view from data from two portions of the video memory. |
