One or more pure cultures of Lactobacillus, such as L.reuteri, L.animalis and L.salivarius and a sugar source, such as whey and a method of feeding animals which utilizes the formulation to be ingested by the animals with their normal food. Preferably, direct feed microorganisms such as Lactobacillus reuteri are established in the gastrointestinal tract of avian organisms, adding them to whey and feeding the composition in the form of pellets to the organisms. |
