Mineral fodder and/or supplementary fodder in the form of pieces is made by pressing a homogeneous mixt. of different components of mineral fodder and/or supplementary fodder, using a roller press with 2 rollers rotating in opposite directions, with a nip between the rollers, to compress the powdery mixt. to pieces. Pref. the grain sizes of the fodder components are made similar before or after prepn. of the mixt. The press may have profiling, pref. circumferential, and may have grooved rollers, or may have troughed rollers to give the fodder as briquettes. A screw may be used to precompress the powder mixt. before the roller press. The pieces of fodder may be comminuted and opt. sieved after compression.
