Two lasers (1, 3) and a grating (2) are arranged in a plane sepg. a region (17) of high pressure from a vacuum space (20) in the thrust nozzle (19). One laser (1) has a ruby crystal pumped by a surrounding helical flash tube. On the opposite side the other laser (3) acts as an acceptance source for the energy given out by the grating (2) as it is opened and closed by pulses. USE/ADVANTAGE - Also in chemically reactive flow processes and flues, loss of power through vacuum is avoided, and pulsatile outflow of working gases is unimpeded.
