Continuous monitoring of passive corrosion protection for HV, high power cables - comprising operational pulse reflection image with stored original image

The method of continuously monitoring the passive corrosion protection involves detecting the pulse reflection image between the two metal casings (3, 5) enclosing a corrosion protection casing (4). A reflection measurement device is coupled to the metal casings via a power isolation filter and a capacitor. The original image for constant pulse frequency and shape is stored on a data medium by a computer. The images acquired during operation, which can also be stored, are compared with the original image and deviations used to detect corrosion protection damage. USE/ADVANTAGE - For monitoring non-metallic corrosion protection casings between metal casings of high voltage, high power cables during operation without such disadvantages as high cost, lack of earth protection and ambiguous results.
