PURPOSE:To obtain a write-once CD of which a manufacturing process is simple and which is free from deterioration of reproduction by a method wherein a recording layer and a protective layer which consist of specific compositions Au, C, and F are provided on a plastic base material. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 consisting of Au, C, and F is provided directly or via an under coating layer on a plastic base material 1. An optical recording medium is obtained by taking a composition of substances composing a protective layer 4 provided further directly or via another layer thereon as Au:70-95, C:2-15, and F:2-15 by atom%, if necessary. This optical recording medium is simple for a manufacturing process and free from deterioration of reproduction, and can be used as a write-once CD. |
