<p>The invention relates to a rubber sprung railway wheel with a respective annular groove formed by lateral shoulders 4-7 on the wheel tyre 1 and the wheel rim 2 and several spaced, prestressed rubber elements 3 embedded in the annular chamber defined by the annular grooves. In order to limit the axial mobility, mutually overlapping radial projections 6, 8 are provided on one side of the wheel in the area of the shoulders 4, 6 leaving an annular gap. Located in the annular gap between these radial projections 6, 8 is an axially prestressed rubber element 9, whose axial prestress is balanced by the axial shear stress in the rubber elements 3 embedded under prestress between the wheel tyre 1 and the wheel rim 2. Such a railway wheel offers the advantage of improved axial rigidity with exclusively rubber springing. <IMAGE></p> |
