PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively an optical recording medium having a rugged signal with a low fraction defective by irradiating active energy rays to crosslink and harden a recorded signal bearing layer to which rugged signals are transferred. CONSTITUTION:The recorded signal bearing layer consisting of resin components which can be deformed by pressure but have not viscosity at a normal temperature and can be crosslinked by irradiation of active energy rays is formed on a transparent supporting body. A stamper provided with rugged signals is put on this layer, and rugged signals are transferred to the recorded signal bearing layer under pressure reduction of <=10Torr, and simultaneously, active energy rays are irradiated. Thus, the recorded signal bearing layer to which rugged signals are transferred is crosslinked and hardened to produce the optical recording medium. Since this production method does not require devices such as a press or the like and is very easy and the adhesive strength between the stamper and the recorded signal bearing layer is improved considerably, a fraction defective of products is reduced considerably. |
