To transfer a pair of tights (1) from a machine for sewing tights to a machine for sewing the toes (90), use is made of an apparatus comprising: - means (200) arranged below the rail (2) of the machine for sewing tights, in order to draw downwards the legs (100) of the pair of tights (1) which hang from the said rail (2), with a retractable tube (25) connected to a suction device; - movable gripper means (16) for slipping off the elastic edge (30) of the body (3) from the form (4) of the machine for sewing tights and for extending it horizontally; - means for spreading vertically the body (3) of the pair of tights (1) which has been slipped off from the said forms (14), with two twin hooks (6) capable of being spread apart vertically and subjected to an alternating horizontal movement synchronised with the said gripper (16); - means for extracting the body (3) of the pair of tights (1) from the said hooks (6) and for slipping it on to the tubes (9) of the machine for sewing the toes (90), by overturning it, with two parallel and spaced hooks (62) subjected to an alternating horizontal movement and arranged parallel and on each side of the abovementioned tubes (9); - means for spreading the legs (100) of the pair of tights (1) which have been tensioned and for bringing the toes of their feet (102) near to the mouth of the said tubes (9), with a plate (8) having a W-shaped profile, supported by a vertical arm (7) fastened to a carriage (70) sliding on a rectilinear guide rail (71) having an axis (a) inclined upwards. <IMAGE> |
