SOLID-STATE RADIATION DETECTOR

PURPOSE: To provide a radiation detector which attains realtime non-destructive reading operation by providing a pixel array having a photodiode. CONSTITUTION: An X-ray image detector 12 is provided with a light-emitting layer 28 including an X-ray phosphor, a non-crystalline silicon Schottky barrier diode array layer 30, a polysylicon TFT array layer 32 and a reader circuit 34. The phosphor in the light-emitting layer 28 transduces an incident X-ray into a corresponding visible light beam. The diode array generates an electric signal corresponding to the intensity of the light beam from the layer 28. The current generated at the photodiode array 30 is supplied to the gate of a transistor in the array layer 32, and the reader circuit 34 amplifiers the electric signal and converts it into a digital signal.
