PURPOSE: To prolong the storage life, to enhance the irradiation sensitivity and to widen the image reversal range by incorporating 1,2-quinonediazide as a binder insoluble in water and soluble in an aq. alkaline soln. and a specified compd. CONSTITUTION: An urethane contg. 1,2-quinonediazide as a binder insoluble in water and soluble in an aq. alkaline soln. and a compd. lowering the developer solubility in the range exposed by heat treatment and shown by formula I as the essential components are incorporated. In formula I, R1 is hydrogen or methyl, R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, etc., R3 is arylene or arylenealkylene, Q is hydrogen, -CH4-p or CR5 R6 (where R5 and R6 are hydrogen, alkyl, etc.), (m) is 1 to 3, (n) is 1 to 50, and (p) is 1 to 3.
