The air-cooled condenser has inclined or vertical cooling elements. The elements are connected to a bottom manifold for steam and condensate, while at the top some are connected to a steam distribution pipe and others to an exhaustion pipe for non-condensible gases. Some at least of the cooling elements (2,3,7) are connected to a pipe (13), which can be shut off, supplying heated air. This pipe can lead into the bottom manifold (5), to which the lower unions on the elements are connected.
