PURPOSE:To perform excellent detection of concentration of combustible gas even at a low concentration area. CONSTITUTION:A galvanic battery type combustible gas sensor comprises a positive pole 2 formed of silver and silver chloride and having porosity, a negative pole 3 effective to electrochemical reaction of combustible gas and working as a gas pole, and an electrolyte 4 containing 0.1-5mol/liter of chlorine ion. By forming the positive pole by using porous silver and sliver chloride, the positive pole depends on only chloride ion concentration, and by limiting chlorine ion concentration, reduction reaction of oxygen at the negative pole can be suppressed. Thus, combustive gas concentration can be excellently detected even at a low concentration combustible gas area without exercising an adverse influence by the generation of oxygen gas. |
