PURPOSE:To provide a printing apparatus capable of immediately performing printing at the point of time when printing data is prepared and printing becomes possible by issuing a command for a printer engine to start preliminary operation after the elapse of a predetermined time prior to analyzing printing data. CONSTITUTION:When page data, is received from a host computer 101 and the analysis thereof is started, preliminary operation is indicated in a printer engine part 108 after a predetermined time. By this constitution, at the point of time when the start of the printing of one page becomes possible after the processing of the page data is completed, the printer engine part 108 is immediately started to make it possible to perform printing. |
