PURPOSE:To prevent the disabling of detecting a focus caused by low brightness and to optimumly photograph a main object by providing a means for specifying a spot area in a photographic screen and a projecting means for irradiating with auxiliary light. CONSTITUTION:The main object which is decided at every time of photographing is irradiated with the auxiliary light C1 for detecting the focus at the time of detecting the focus so that the focusing operation only for the main object can be performed. And also, at the time of photographing, it is irradiated with the auxiliary light C2 for photographing so that the optimum exposure for the main object can be obtained. And furthermore, in the case that the degree of fixing photographer's eyes on the main object is high, the area irradiated with the auxiliary light C2 is made narrow based on the output of a spot area specifying means B so that the spot illumination effect on the main object can be obtained. |
