摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the kinds of substrates, and to obtain a illuminator of low cost by a method wherein light emitting elements are arranged directly in element accommodating recess parts to be made to come in contact with the metal substrate, and the substrate itself is used as a good electric conductor. CONSTITUTION:Element accommodating recess parts 3 of the plural number of pieces are formed on the surface of a metal substrate l consisting of a good conductor such as Al, etc. in the longitudinal direction thereof interposing proper intervals between them, and moreover the whole of the surface of the substrate excluding the recess parts 3 is covered with an insulating layer 4. A common conductive layer 5 is formed on the above-mentioned insulating layer 4 as to be extended in the longitudinal direction of the metal substrate l, and moreover chip type conductive layers 10 of the plural number of pieces are formed on the insulating layer 4 thereof corresponding to the respective element accommodating recess parts 3 mentioned above. Because currents are conducted between the light emitting elements 2 and the substrate l utilizing the electric characteristic as the good conductor of the metal substrate l as it is like this, to form laminatedly insulating layers and conductive layers in the element accommodating recess parts 3 becomes as unnecessary, manufacture of the illuminator is simplified and facilitated, and the illuminator can be offered at low cost.
