PURPOSE:To reduce a time spent for the total copying operation of a copying machine equipped with a recirculating type document feeding device. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine equipped with a recirculating type document feeding device (RDH) sometimes starts a copying process after counting the number of documents with RDH. The maximum document feeding speed of the copying machine is determined on the basis of a minimum multiplying factor for document feeding speed. A time spent for counting the number of documents, however, can be reduced by setting the feeding speed during counting at a level higher than determined on the basis of the aforesaid minimum multiplying factor. As a result, a time spent for the whole of copying operation can be reduced. |
