PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in a picture quality caused by the reduction in the thickness of the film of a photosensitive body by detecting a current flowing into the photosensitive body and informing an external part of it when the flowing current exceeds a current value set for a service life. CONSTITUTION:A circuit 7 which detects the value of current flowing into the photosensitive body 1 is provided. The flowing current value is compared with the predetermined current value set for the expiration of the lifespan. When the value exceeds the predetermined value, the device informs the external part of this. A CPU 11 fetches the flowing current from the current value detecting circuit 7, reads an exposure level corresponding to the flowing current value, from the data of a table stored in a RAM 13, and outputs the value to a copying lamp activating circuit 10. If the flowing current value exceeds the current value set for the service life stored in the RAM 13, the exposure level is not set, but an instruction is outputted to a consol panel control circuit 14 so as to display the warning. Thus, the service life of the photosensitive body is accurately recognized and trouble such as the degradation in picture quality can be prevented. |
