PURPOSE: To provide a nipple used for coupling various secondary coupling components including Hansen-type couplings. CONSTITUTION: This nipple 6 includes a longitudinally extending cylinder which includes an outer recess on its outer surface which is adapted for engagement with a Hansen-type secondary coupling component including a locking element for engaging the outer recess. The nipple 6 includes threads located between the outer recess and the outer end 11 of the longitudinally extending cylinder member, which are adapted for engagement with a secondary coupling component including corresponding thread thereon. The nipple 6 is intended to be used in order to couple dialyzer 1 or similar diffusion and/or filtration devices to different tube systems which can include coupling components which are intended for throw-away use and/or for multiple usage.
