PURPOSE: To discriminate and exclude a sliding test element by using a humidity detector to detect a pre-spot with high accuracy without generating erroneous detection. CONSTITUTION: An analyser is equipped with a distribution station, a patient sample source like a tray 20, a slide handling means 30 driving a sliding test element to the position under the distribution station 18 and a humidity detector 60. The detector 60 generates the R-C time attenuation signal representing the reactivity of the test element in a water absorbing zone. A computer 75 calculates the change rate of the signal over a certain time and compares the calculated value with the noise threshold value showing the change ratio probably generated by the motion of the test element to discriminate whether a value larger than the threshold value is obtained with respect to two continuous data points. When the comparison result is confirmed to be two continuous data points obtaining the value larger than the threshold value, an error statement is generated. |
