[Also in Division F3] A rocket motor comprises a casing 2 and a convergent/divergent nozzle 1 formed at its larger end with gas discharge parts 9. The casing 2 contains a block 23 of main propellant for burning at a relatively high temperature and a lower block 4 of propellant burning at a relatively low temperature and forming with the part 1a of nozzle 1 an annular space 21. The space 21 communicates through ducts 2 and valves 8 and 19 with nozzles 9 and further nozzles 15 respectively and during operation the gases produced in space 21 by block 4 are at a higher pressure than those produced by block 23, some flowing in contact with the wall of the nozzle to provide a protective film and the remainder being available for selective discharge through nozzles 9 or 15 to control the rocket vehicle in direction or roll.
