PURPOSE:To obtain a compound such as erectumins A and B useful as a vasodilator, a skin medicine for external use, etc. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 is H or Group expressed by formula II; R2 is H or CH3; the asterisk mark indicates asymmetric carbon atom), e.g. erectumins A and B in which R1 is the group expressed by formula II and R2 is H. The aforementioned compound is obtained by initially pulverizing Hypericum erectum Thunb., adding a solvent such as methanol or acetone to the pulverized substance, carrying out dipping and extracting at 10-60 deg.C for 1 day to 1 week, subjecting the resultant essence of the extract solution to liquid-liquid partition with methanol, water and n-hexane and fractionating the prepared n-hexane fraction. |
