PURPOSE:To obtain a new imidazole derivative having ultrahigh insecticidal effects as an insecticide. CONSTITUTION:An imidazole derivative expressed by formula I (R<1> is H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkylthio or 2-3C alkoxyalkyl; R<2> is H or 1-4C haloalkyl; R<3> is halogen, nitro or CF3; R<4> is 1-3C haloalkyl or 1-3C haloalkoxy), e.g. a compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is H; R<2> and R<4> are CF3; R<3> us F). The aforementioned compound expressed by formula I is obtained by reacting a halide compound expressed by formula II (A is halogen) with an imidazole expressed by formula III. The above-mentioned compound is capable of exhibiting excellent insecticidal effects on insect pests of the orders Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, Dictyoptera, Thysanoptera, Orthoptera, Hymenopetra, Siphonaptera, Anoplura, Isoptera, etc. |
