INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING RECORDING HEAD

PURPOSE:To keep the stable emitting state of ink in a recording head by providing a filter to the first flow passage from an ink tank to the recording head and arranging a back flow preventing means to the second flow passage from the recording head to the ink tank. CONSTITUTION:A storage tank 36 storing ink and the common liquid chamber 32 of a recording head 1001 are connected through first and second flow passages 41, 42. A filter 46 for collecting the dust penetrating into the common liquid chamber 32 is provided to the flow passage 41. Since there is no filter between the flow passage 42 and the storage tank 36, the flow resistance of the flow passage 42 becomes lower than that of the flow passage 41 having the filter 41 and almost all of the dust in the common liquid chamber 32 is discharged to the storage tank 36. At the time of recording, a slight amount of the ink passed through a distributing valve 49 is only supplyed to the head 1001 from the second flow passage 42 by capillary action and no dust is supplied to the head 1001 and excellent effect is obtained in high speed recording or the extension of the head.
