PURPOSE:To facilitate transportation of a grassy material by subjecting a grassy material such as corn cob rich in lignin to compression molding and obtain a feed or culture medium material for mushroom culture by crushing the molded article thereof. CONSTITUTION:The objective crushed article obtained by crushing the above- mentioned compression-molded article (having 0.4-1.2 specific gravity) by a cutting-like method, culture medium material for mushroom culture consisting of the crushed article and molded article obtained by subjecting corn cob or solid mixture material containing >=50% corn cob to compression molding so as not to break a fiber. The molded article can be directly utilized as a building material or others and causes no hardening of the surface of crushed article, because the above-mentioned crushing is carried out by cutting without adding pressure thereto and is rich in pores and has good water absorption and water retaining properties and is suitable as a mushroom culture material. |
