PURPOSE: To reduce the weight and to enhance the strength of a rolling piston by providing a mantle wall with grooves extending in the approximately longitudinal direction of the rolling piston, in the rolling piston having the outer mantle which supports a rolling crease of a rolling bellows during elastic bending. CONSTITUTION: In a rolling piston having a mantle wall which supports a rolling crease of a rolling bellows of a rolling bellows-type air spring during elastic bending, the mantle wall is provided with grooves 17, 19 extending in the approximately longitudinal direction of the rolling piston. During operation, load acting on the radial direction in the piston periphery applied by the rolling crease is surely absorbed by the structural shape of the mantle wall. The bending resistance moment of the mantle wall is clearly increased by the grooves 17, 19 so that the buckling strength of the rolling piston is enhanced. The rolling piston provided with the grooves 17, 19 in the mantle wall has considerably higher strength than the conventional ones. |
