<p>PURPOSE: To provide a valve lockout device formable by remodeling a conventional lever type valve by bringing a bearing face of a leg member in contact with a valve body or a pipeline, by holding the circumference of the lever handle in a closed position as it is, by fitting matching pairs of holes along the edge of the handle to receive a lock, and by locking the handle. CONSTITUTION: This lockout device is provided with a leg member 26 having a bearing face 28, a channel member 27 which stores a lever handle 12 for a valve 10 in its closed state and includes a channel engaged with an inclined intermediate panel 16, and a plurality row of paired holes 34 which penetratingly extend through the channel member 27, and matched with and separated from each other. The circumference of the lever handle 12 in a closed state is held in the closed state by slidably bringing the bearing face 28 of the leg member 26 in contact with a valve body 15 or a pipeline 11 and the matching pairs of the holes 34 are fitted to the edge of the handle 12 to receive a lock, thereby locking the valve handle.</p> |
