PURPOSE: To use for the manufacture of a copy, a color proofing, a lithographic printing plate and a resist by reducing mottle in a melt image. CONSTITUTION: The electrostatic liquid developer composed substantially of (A) a non-polar liquid having the kauri-butanol value of <30, (B) a thermoplastic resin particle having a free carboxyl group (average particle diameter is <30μm), (C) an oil soluble petroleum sulfonate or an anionic glyceride charge controlling agent soluble in the non-polar liquid and (D) 0.01-0.15wt.% metals at least one of an organic metallic compound on the reference of total weight of the liquid developer and the producing method are provided.
