The invention relates to a rocking stop for gates of gateways. This rocking stop is characterised, mainly in that the position of the articulation point of the toe-holder lever (30) with respect to the axis of articulation (20) is adjustable through use of a groove (32) with a rack (33) or of a series of holes, and in that the return of the said lever (30) to the horizontal position is obtained by a spring (20) connecting the return arm (303) of the lever (30) to the post (10). <IMAGE>
