This pencil comprises a lead (3) made from a waxy material, which slides axially in a cavity (5) of a small tube (4), a tip piece (9) being fitted on to the lead (3). This tip piece has an internal thread (10) and is locked axially with respect to the tube (4) but is free to rotate with respect to the latter, the rotation of the tip piece (9), which is controlled by means of an extractor cap (2), causing the lead to emerge from the tube (4), the cap (2) being advantageously fitted with a blade (19) which sharpens the point of the lead (3) as it emerges from the tube (4).
