The refrigeration installation comprises a central cold source which circulates a cooling fluid in a distribution pipeline, and refrigerated stations connected to the said pipeline and fitted with a refrigeration unit. The refrigeration unit 10 consists of a closed circuit containing a determined charge of refrigerating fluid, with, at the bottom, an evaporator 12 and, at the top, a condenser 11 cooled by the cooling fluid, which are connected to each other by a rising gaseous fluid pipe 13 and by a descending liquid fluid pipeline 14. Application to refrigeration installations cooled by a cooling fluid without phase change. <IMAGE>
