The present invention relates to the cutting of pieces of wood or similar materials, and relates particularly to equipment for putting logs in place. It consists of two posts (2) (2') which allow several logs to be put in place, on three support points (3) (3') (4), and of an immobilisation system (1) (5) (10) (11) making sure that the logs are held in the trestle. The invention will allow the user to cut up several logs at the same time. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the chopping up of logs. <IMAGE>
