PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn product having high antimicrobial properties and durability, not causing change of color by sealing silver or copper compound-containing soluble glass fine powder to a yarn product with an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A yarn product comprising natural yarn, semisynthetic yarn or synthetic yarn is immersed in a treating solution preferably composed of a polyester-based resin blended with soluble glass fine powder (large amount of sodium component) containing a silver or copper compound such as silver oxide, silver nitrate, copper oxide or copper sulfate, dried and heat-treated to give the objective antimicrobial yarn product having high antimicrobial properties, excellent durability and not causing change of color. When this method is applied to flame-retardant polyester yarn as the yarn product, antimicrobial properties can be extremely preferably increased without reduction in flame retardancy. |
