A set of safety members (7,8,9) or fuses is attached to the inside of switch covers (4,5,6) connected to each other on a housing (1,2). On closing the covers (4,5,6) the safety members pivot to their ON position in which pairs of contacts are connected. The covers are connected to each other by at least one joint (10) and are only pivotable between their closed position and a max. open position. The angle of opening of the cover in the max. open position is greater than 90 deg., pref. 140 deg., relative to its closed position. ADVANTAGE - Simple robust construction. Fuses are easily accessible and simple and safe to replace. When open, covers lie fairly flat against housing.
