Reversible device for the transfer of energy from a fluid to a mechanical shaft in rotation, of the positive displacement type. This device is characterized in that it consists of: - a fixed first unit formed by a cylindrical chamber with two lateral openings for the entry and exit of the fluid and of an inner cylinder with the same height fixed to the bottom of the chamber and concentric with its inner cylindrical surface; - a movable second unit formed by a number of cylinders which fit the inner annular space of the chamber exactly in terms of diameter and height, it being possible, however, to roll along the same; - a fixed third unit consisting of the cover of the cylindrical chamber, which has, on its inner face, a cylindrical cavity which is off-centre with respect to the inner annular space of the chamber; - a movable fourth unit consisting of a plate which fits the inner cylindrical cavity of the cover exactly in terms of diameter, being able, however, to roll with respect to the shaft supported by the same cover.
