<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a building material excellent in moisture absorption and molded into shape easy to handle by mixing silica gel, fibrous material and an adhesive in a specified ratio, molding and then drying the mixture. CONSTITUTION:More than 50wt.% silica gel, 10-30wt.% of a fibrous material such as scrap chips and <=30wt.% of a high molecular adhesive such as hydrophilicity-improved PVC emulsion with the resin component not intruding into the pore of the silica gel are mixed, <=20wt.%, based on the silica gel, of the halide of an alkaline-earth metal is incorporated into the mixture, and the obtained mixture is molded and dried. The molded body is shaped into tiles, the tiles are set in a checkered pattern under the floor, hence the space under the floor is easily and efficiently dried, and the damage due to dew condensation, etc., is obviated.</p> |
