PURPOSE:To easily cope with the change in the number of external terminals and pitch by implanting plural transfer pins free to appear and disappear in a polygonal rod-shaped hood member with the different pitch for each side face of the member, rotating the member around its axis to cope with the change in pitch and furnishing a shutter plate to the coating means. CONSTITUTION:A head member 5 above a coating means 8 is lowered toward the coating means 8 and then raised. A conductive paste in the long groove 8b of a coating roller 8a of the coating means 8 is deposited on the tip face of each transfer pin 6 implanted in the first side face 5b directed downward among the side faces 5b, 5c, 5d and 5e of the member 5. The member 5 is then horizontally moved right above a liq. crystal display element A on a support 1 and then lowered toward the element A to abut the pin 6 on the side edge of the element A, and the conductive paste A1 is applied on the side edge of the element A with the appropriate pitch P. After application, the member 5 is raised and returned above the coating means 8, the next element A is supplied on the support 1, and the conductive paste A2 is applied on each element A. |
