The invention concerns a device for collecting substances floating on surface of running current. It is known that one can remove floating substances from surfaces of running current water by means of straw bales wrapped in nest and attached transversely to current by suspending on floating supports. On wide water areas and great amount of floating substances their removal requires great input of sources and service staff, and during replacement of soiled bales significant amount of substances re-enters the current. Mechanical removal of oily patches from still waters in ports by means of collecting device is also known. The aim of the invention was to develop a mechanical device for collecting substances floating on surfaces of running current. This aim has been achieved by constructing a device for collecting substances floating on surface of water areas of running current consisting of scoop, tubular carrying connector, container and floats, characterised in that ratio of lateral cross-sections of horizontal floats to rear cross-section of vertical float is contained from 8 : 2 to 9 :1 and at the same time ratio of distance from centre of buoyancy of rear vertical float to centre of buoyancy of lateral vertical floats is from 3.3 : 2.0 to 3.9 : 2.4, and tilting rocker attached in parallel plates is tilt-connected by articulated joints to arms, to which also in tilting manner are attached via articulated joints lateral vertical floats, and symmetry axes of articulated joints are perpendicular one to another.
