Flywheel energy storage unit with transformerless frequency converter
摘要
The energy generated in short bursts by the heat engine is buffer-stored in the flywheel on which revolving and pref. permanent magnets constitute the rotor magnets of a synchronous machine in cooperating with stator coils. When the flywheel is run-up to max. speed the heat engine is stopped and the electrical load is supplied with energy while the flywheel runs down. The absence of a transformer magnetic circuit eliminates iron losses.
