This molten iron 8 is charged into the furnace 3, into which solid carbon K and oxygen O are blown to evolve a reducing gas G for shaft furnace. At the same time, the quicklime C is blown to desiliconize the molten iron. Thence, the molten iron is dephosphorized and desulfurized in a molten iron treating furnace 4, and further it is decarbonized in a converter 5. At this time, slag minimum blowing is executed on account of the decrease in slag amount. The deficiency of scraps S is solved by the cold charging of the reduced iron 7.</p>
