<p>PURPOSE:To record a monophonic sound signal for a longer time by having the number of revolutions of a drum and a tape traveling speed for stereo recording at the time of monophonic recording and lengthening the recording time of a monophonic signal. CONSTITUTION:Stereo signals inputted to input terminals 20L and 20R are added up by an adder 22 to become a monophonic signal, and afterward, the signal is processed to be recorded by an A/D converter 28, an encoder 32 and a modulation circuit 26. A switch 44 is connected to the side of a contact by an output of a stereo/monophone changeover circuit 46. Thus, an output of the modulation circuit 36 is impressed via the switch 44 upon a switch circuit 48. This switch circuit 48 is changed by a dynamic pulse in a similar manner to the stereo recording case, and the output of the modulation circuit 35 is, in this case, alternately impressed every 1/60 sec upon magnetic heads 12a and 12b via recording amplifiers 52 and 54 and switches 56 and 58. Then, at the time of the monophonic recording, the number of revolutions of the drum and the tape traveling speed are lower by half than the stereo recording, thus lengthening the recording time of the monophonic signal.</p> |
