PURPOSE:To prevent an operator from meaninglessly waiting for the response of a cordless telephone set by displaying information, which indicates that the response to a call cannot be detected, in the case that the response to the call cannot be detected at the time of calling the cordless telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When a master telephone set 14 is busy and a transfer key of a key pad 18 is inputted, a speech control part 17 requests a radio control part 16 to call a slave telephone set. If the radio control part 16 fails in transfer, that is, if a radio line to a slave telephone set 119 cannot be connected by preliminarily determined radio procedures or carrier-off of the slave telephone set 119 is detected by a radio processing circuit 112, information indicating that the slave telephone set cannot be called to fail in transfer is displayed on a display device 19. The user is informed that it is forecasted that power-off of the slave telephone set is one cause of the failure in transfer.
