Compsns. for treating mycobacterial infection - comprises rifampicin, sulphamethoxazole, trimethoprim and prothionamide

Medicaments for treating mycobacterial infections contain rifampicin (I), sulphamethoxazole (II), trimethoprim (III) and prothionamide (IV). The medicaments may also be used to treat infections by non-mycobacterial bacteria, protozoa and fungi, e.g. malaria, `hospitalism' and opportunistic infections in AIDS patients. The medicaments are formulated as tablets or dragees contg. 100-130 mg (I), 200-400 mg (II), 40-80 mg (III) and 40-70 mg (IV). USE - The medicaments are useful for treating tuberculosis, leprosy and opportunistic mycobacterial infections in AIDS patients
